Yogyakarta, May 22, 2025 – In an effort to enhance their knowledge and understanding of seed technology, students of the Biology Department at Diponegoro University (UNDIP) conducted an industrial visit to PT Tani Murni Indonesia in Sleman, Yogyakarta. The visit was accompanied by the lecturers of the Seed Technology course, Prof. Dr. Endah Dwi Hastuti and Dr. Sri Darmanti.
The Branch Manager of PT Tani Murni Indonesia Yogyakarta, Satriawan Yosrisal, SP. MP, also known as Pak Yossi, delivered a welcome speech and a short lecture at the company’s location. Pak Yossi explained that the application of technology in the seed business can advance food security dynamics. He also highlighted that the seed business is highly profitable.
The students were enthusiastic about Pak Yossi’s explanation and asked many questions about the company’s operations and seed technology concepts. During the visit to several seed production units, the students were guided by the company’s staff and received scientific explanations.
Prof. Endah hopes that the students will be more motivated to conduct research and utilize their field experience to develop a scientific perspective in understanding opportunities and biological phenomena. Meanwhile, Dr. Sri Darmanti expressed gratitude and appreciation to Pak Yossi and his team for providing the students with the opportunity to learn at PT Tani Murni Indonesia Yogyakarta.
This industrial visit is a follow-up to the guest lecture series that was previously held three times with Pak Yossi as the speaker in a hybrid format from March to April. The students gained valuable knowledge from the seed processing industry, including the importance of persistence, consistency, honesty, and high discipline in achieving success and greatness.
