bio.fsm.undip.ac.id.on Monday (11/7) the Faculty of Science and Mathematics undip received a visit from the Faculty of mathematics and Natural Sciences, Lambung Mangkurat University. The event began with a speech by the dean of FSM Undip Prof.Dr. Widowati, S.Si, M.Si. the first presentation was delivered by FSM profile consisting of several departments and study programs. One of the developments currently implemented in FSM is the implementation of international class programs, especially in the Department of Biology. While with this, the Department of biology is in the process of international accreditation (ASIIN). In order to develop research, FSM has several research centers including Ce-Mebsa, CPR, CGR and Center for Advance Materials, Electronics and Information Systems’, all FSM research centers are constantly in the process of producing innovative products that are superior in FSM Undip. Prof. Widowati also explained that FSM’s international activities often organize visiting professors, international seminars, student mobility, Joint research and publications with several foreign campuses.
Furthermore, representatives of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Lambung Mangkurat University represented by Vice Dean 3 and Chairman of UPKH FMIPA of Lambung Mangkurat University, Mr. Khoerul Anwar, S.F, M.Sc, Apt, he was present with the team that is Dr. Gunawa as the head of Biology study Program of Lambung Mangkurat University and Drs. Heri Budi S, M.Si who is a lecturer of Biology Department and also served as dean of Faculty of mathematics and Natural Sciences, Lambung Mangkurat University a few years ago. The visit of the team from the Faculty of mathematics and Natural Sciences, Lambung Mangkurat University became an important agenda as well as part of the follow-up cooperation that had previously been established with the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Diponegoro University at the end of last year (2021).
The discussion session was coordinated by the head of Biology Department Prof. Drs. Sapto Purnomo Putro, M Si, Ph.D. In this discussion session, several important things were stated along with the National Academic dynamics including the implementation of the Merdeka Learning Program (MBKM). Information Sharing between Biology Department of FSM Undip and Biology Department of FMIPA, Lambung Mangkurat University produced ideas for follow-up cooperation, especially to support the implementation of MBKM. The student exchange Program that had been put forward into the future agenda that will be pursued to be followed up between 2 fellow institutions of this Biology study program. Furthermore, the discussion about research, that all the potential of biological natural resources in Kalimantan is widely open to be the object of research for the Undip FSM biology lecturer team so that it is possible for research collaboration with the research team from biology FMIPA, Lambung Mangkurat University.
The visit Agenda was ended by the team touring around the FSM campus environment and several FSM Undip biology laboratories. It is hoped that this visit can be an important part of realizing cooperation between 2 Biology study program institutions so that they can synergize and collaborate to produce important works and can achieve institutional targets as expected.
