bio.fsm.undip.ac.id. The undergraduate thesis of Gendis Angger Pitaloka (NIM. 24020118190141) has proven that rats possess visual cognition. Rats can differentiate between a triangle and a square shape by the two-alternative forced choice (2AFC) method, where a square is associated with rewards and a triangle with punishment. Through training, Rats possess memory retention of the shapes resulting in a quick reaction toward the “correct” shape.

In addition, there was a correlation between glucose and the performance of the rats. Throughout the research, rats were deprived of food to a certain degree. Blood glucose levels were examined during training as well as a test session. As a result, there was a correlation between rats’ performance and blood glucose levels of rats.

Gendis has successfully defended her thesis on February 7th, 2023 under the supervision of Dr. Dra. Agung Janika Sitasiwi, M.Si., and Dr. Kasiyati, S.Si., M.Si. with Dr. Teguh Suprihatin, S.Si., M.Si. as the assesor.
