Malaysia (biologi.fsm.undip.ac.id) – The Biology Department of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM) at Universitas Diponegoro (Undip), Semarang, is actively expanding, strengthening, and implementing its international collaboration network in science and mathematics with top universities around the world. Most recently, the FSM Biology Department at Undip has established a partnership with the Center for Remote Sensing Studies at Universiti Sains Malaysia.
This collaboration was formalized on Tuesday (October 29, 2024), with an agreement signed by the Dean of FSM Undip, Prof. Dr. Kusworo Adi, S.Si. MT, the Dean of the Center for Remote Sensing Studies at Universiti Sains Malaysia, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zulnaidi Yacoob, and the Head of FSM Biology Department at Undip, Prof. Drs. Sapto P. Putro, M.Si., Ph.D., who acted as the person in charge (PIC) and was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Erma Prihastanti, M.Si., and Dr. Dra. Agung Janika Sitasiwi, M.Si.
Prof. Sapto, Head of the FSM Biology Department at Undip, stated that the partnership agreement encompasses educational collaborations between both parties, including visiting professor programs, adjunct professor roles, symposia, workshops, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), general lectures, joint research, and scientific publications.
In addition to the signing of the partnership, activities also included visits to research laboratories and supporting facilities in applied and modern biology, benchmarking curriculum mapping, joint research, and publications between the FSM Biology Department at Undip and the Biology Division of the Center for Remote Sensing Studies at Universiti Sains Malaysia on October 29, 2024. A joint biology class for students from both universities will also be held online from October 29 to December 31, 2024. This collaboration is expected to be a step toward FSM Undip Biology Department’s internationalization efforts, supporting Undip’s vision to become a World Class University.
