bio.fsm.undip.ac.id. The CPalim Research Cluster at Diponegoro University held an online seminar titled “Diatom and Soft-bodied Algae Analysis” on September 23, 2024. This event was organized in collaboration with EcoAnalysts, Inc. USA.
Participants showed great enthusiasm, with over 100 attendees from various institutions and universities, including Diponegoro University. In the opening session, Prof. Dr. Tri Retnaningsih Soeprobowati, M.AppSc, Head of CPalim Undip, emphasized the importance of this event and the benefits it could provide. She also discussed CPalim and diatom research in Indonesia, along with findings that reveal relevant natural phenomena for further study.
Prof. Dr. Kusworo Adi, S.Si, MT, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics at Undip, praised the organizing committee and expressed hope that this seminar could serve as a bridge for research collaboration with the EcoAnalysts team in the USA, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the field of environmental science.
Experts from EcoAnalysts Inc. USA participated in the event, including Robert T. Bobier (Laboratory Manager), Kody Cochrell (Project Coordinator), Leighanna, and Nina Desianti, a Biology graduate from FSM Undip who is now a researcher in the United States.
Microalgae, particularly diatoms, play a crucial role in sustainable aquatic management due to their sensitivity to environmental changes. It is hoped that this webinar will lead to ongoing research collaboration between the CPalim team at Undip and EcoAnalysts Inc. USA.
