Terengganu, Malaysia – Two lecturers from the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM), Diponegoro University (UNDIP), were invited as keynote speakers at the FSSM Seminar organized by Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. The academic event took place from 2:30 to 4:30 PM (local time) at Audi Room 1-02, Central Lecture Complex, UMT.

Dr. Karyadi Baskoro, M.Si., presented a talk entitled “Wildlife Diversity and Ecology of Semarang Landscape”, highlighting the richness of wildlife and the ecological dynamics within Semarang’s urban and coastal environments. His presentation emphasized the importance of wildlife conservation amidst urban development and environmental change.

Meanwhile, Dr. Lilih Khotimperwati, M.Si., delivered a lecture on “Exploring Bryophyte Diversity Through Integrative Approaches”. She elaborated on integrative methods used to explore bryophyte diversity, combining morphological and molecular approaches, as well as their potential applications in ecology and environmental studies.

The seminar was moderated by Dr. Aqilah Mohammad from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu and attended by UMT academics, postgraduate students, and invited guests from various institutions. The participation of UNDIP lecturers in this forum reflects a strong commitment to fostering international academic networks and collaborations within the Southeast Asian region.

This engagement is expected to open up further opportunities for joint research and academic exchange between UNDIP and UMT, particularly in the fields of tropical biodiversity and ecology.
