bio.fsm.undip.ac.id. the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Diponegoro University on Friday (10/6) carried out the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Organic Agriculture professional certification institution. The event was held at the dean of FSM Acyntia Prasada Building 4th Floor. The event was opened by Prof. Dr. Widowati, S.Si, M.Si as dean of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Diponegoro University. The team from the Organic Agriculture professional certification institution (LSPPO) who attended was I Nyoman Oka Tridjaja, Ph.D; Agus Yulianto, SKM and Robaeli Ndruru, S.Pd. In his speech, Prof. Widowati explained the profile of the Faculty of Science and mathematics of Undip to the audience and expressed hope that all resources available at FSM have the potential to support sustainable cooperation with various institutions including the LSPPO.
Meanwhile, Mr. I Nyoman Oka Tridjaja, Ph.D from LSPPO in a speech session said that LSPPO had the opportunity to enter Undip through FSM is expected to be a good start for the future. He said that LSPPO as a certification body is still relatively new in Indonesia and has started to take part in the field of organic agriculture to improve the quality of Agriculture in this country. All the potential and challenges of organic farming in the future become an important task to be developed in this country in order to contribute to efforts to overcome environmental problems. Organic farming at the ASEAN level there are standard agreements including related to competent human resources. LSPPO is an important element in ensuring the quality of competent human resources so that they can become implementers of organic agriculture certification in Indonesia. Organic agriculture market competition at the ASEAN level is an important factor in the context of certification because this country needs to have competent human resources specifically so as to reduce the need for experts/ experts from abroad. In particular, organic agriculture certification can be useful for students because it can be a provision at the time of graduation later. In connection with the cooperation between LSPPO and FSM, it certainly opens up opportunities to support the implementation of the Merdeka Learning Campus (MBKM) program.
The signing ceremony was attended by all leaders of the faculty and Department of biology including Prof. Drs. Sapto Purnomo Putro, M.Si, Ph.D who acted as the PIC of FSM and LSPPO cooperation and witnessed by several representatives of biology department lecturers. As one of the follow-up of the cooperation, the organic agriculture professional certification exam was held involving several lecturers and students of the Department of Biology. Professional Certification is an important part in one part of the effort to achieve the performance indicators of Diponegoro University. The Department of Biology expects and will strive for similar activities to be further enhanced by various other biology-related institutions.
